If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the people behind the scenes at Alderwood Manor Heritage, you’ve come to the right place. Starting today, we’ll be featuring one volunteer per month in the new Volunteer Profiles section of our site.

Our volunteers have fascinating stories. For example, you can see and read a lot about the Wickers stores on our site and in our collections, but did you know a former owner of one of the Wickers stores volunteers at AMHA? Did you know we have a volunteer who used to sex chickens for the Demonstration Farm (Or are you like me, and don’t even know what “sexing chickens” means?)? In our ongoing series, “Better Know a Volunteer,” you’ll get to better know the folks who keep AMHA running, from the day-to-dayers to the monthly board members, hosts to President.
